Jan 22, 2024 · Cold water fish have to tolerate very cold winters with freezing weather. The cichlids that I am aware of that do tolerate cooler temperatures, can’t tolerate them that low. I don’t know where there’s a list of those cichlids, but Geophagus Brasiliensis and the Port Acara cichlid (Cichlasoma portalegrense) are two that I am aware of.

May 4, 2023 · Polar Blue Parrot Cichlids are a derivation of the so-called 'Jelly Bean' Convict Cichlid. That is, a purposely created - deformed Cichlid. These are NOT hybrids! Though, with the Polar Blue variant, those colors do seem to argue for a bit of Honduran Red Point Cichlid in the mix (These are sometimes also called the 'Honduran Convict' Cichlid).
