Jan 5, 2019 · Assuming you bought the Cyberpunk 2020 2nd Edition sourcebook, there is a Streetslang guide on page 34. If I recall correctly, choomba is only mentioned circa 2-3 times in the book, while Chombatta is mentioned a few times more, somewhere in the region of 6-7.

Basically, use "Choomba" or "Chombatta" when you would otherwise say "Friend," "Buddy," "Pal," "Dude," "Comrade," "Brother," "Sister," etc. For how to pronounce it, there's no specific guide, but I take "Chomp" and replace the P with "Bah-ta", or take "Doom," replace the D with "Ch" and add the sound a sheep makes at the end.

Oct 23, 2022 · I love Choom\Choomba they are just nice sounding words, but I don't tend to use them as I don't think people would get my meaning. I think that Gen-Z is inventing a lot of new slang right now and if anything they will drive adoption. Cyberpunk had a much bigger social impact than most people are giving it credit for.
