Nov 29, 2013 · So far everything about the SS is better than my 08 G8 GT. The drive, road noise, technology, power, controls are all at a higher level than the G8 was. It should be though it's 5 years newer than the G8 was. Looks, they both have good parts and bad parts. At some angles the G8 looked awkward but overall it is more aggressive.

Jul 25, 2021 · As for power the 385 torque on the G8 gets you off the line pretty well, and around town they aren't that different, 0-60mph in 4.5s (SS) vs. 4.7s (G8), but as the road opens and the revs build the SS's LS3 shows its HP advantage. SS gets the nod for braking advantage too. Both are predictable in turns, but the SS takes more G's with ease.

Mar 17, 2016 · Plenty of former G8 owners on this forum have reported the SS is a better, more modern/improved G8. I love my SS, but if you don't need the space, can stand the gun slit view out, and aren't looking for a sleeper, then the 2017 1LE will crush an SS. I would say the same about a 2017 Camaro SS - the 1LE package just makes it more so.
