Challenger 3 (CR3) is a British fourth-generation main battle tank in development for the British Army. It will be produced by the conversion of existing Challenger 2 tanks by the British/German Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land joint venture.

The Challenger 3 is the new Main Battle Tank being developed by Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land, a joint venture between UK-based BAE Systems and Germany-based Rheinmetall. Along with Ajax and Boxer, it will be at the heart of the Army’s warfighting capability in the Heavy Brigade Combat Teams.
