Jan 20, 2003 · The CETME was originaly chambered for the 7.92 Kurz round. It was decided to rechamber it for a reduced power 308 round when 308 was adopted by NATO. Later versions used better steel and are capable of using normal 308 ammo.

Dec 14, 2011 · The Cetme is a Spanish rifle made long before the G3 and is what the G3 is based on. Cetme kits are cheaper than HK kits by up to several hundreds of dollars most of the time and some but not all of the parts are interchangeable, including magazines.

Jun 29, 2020 · 10 years ago I measured a Cetme recoil spring using some test equipment at work and found it to be a constant 12 pound push from start to full compression. I would guess that most rifles are using constant pressure springs too. Besides being blowback operated, one difference that HK/Cetme style rifles have with others is a really long receiver.

Nov 14, 2008 · I got a CETME this isn't one of the current Century ones. Anyway the cocking handle is very difficult to pull back. I lubed it well and it is still very stiff. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. And the tube looks pretty straight. When I pull the bolt assembly out the charging handle goes back and forth freely.
