The first paint scheme introduced, shortly after CSX indicated they would not be painting CSX on any locomotives, was the "Blue and Grey" scheme - linking North and South - with the corporate name "CSX Transportation" later shortened to just "CSX".

Jul 21, 2005 · BNSF has at least five schemes based on its predecessors colors: three from BN and two from ATSF. CSX’s newest paint scheme is the “Dark Future”. It is dark blue with a yellow nose and rear. It has a yellow border stripe and yellow letters and numbers.
