    Cataglyphis nodus is a species of ant that is common in all Greek provinces except Cyclades and Crete. It is an extremely thermophilous species and is active midday on sandy roads, roadsides with Mediterranean shrubs, urban rural areas and pastures. The queen and worker ants have similar dimensions of 14-15 mm and are black with a coral-red middle part. The species is also found in Asia and Southern Europe.
