Jul 4, 2013 · The oil clutch came out at s/n 9U-13263 (1953) but could be retro-fitted to earlier models and yes, the dry clutch was a weak link for that model and other D6 up models. Direct start option came in at 9U19402 (1955) These are rugged machines, some say one of the best Cat made along with other "U" models. Still have a late 9U myself.

Feb 24, 2015 · The CAT D-6 9U has hydraulic pump number: 25C13969 #46. The hydraulic pump is weak and worn out. Does anyone know of a place to get a new or a good old one Or know of somebody who rebuilds these. Thanks for your help.

Oct 14, 2011 · Ok Cat D6 9U. I have a late 47 or early 1948 serial number 9U00428. It has the heavy hard nose as some call it. Its the hydraulic cylinder mount and has the 46 hydraulic control. As other have stated its direct drive, hand clutch for main, lever to release steer clutch and pedal to engage brake.

Oct 14, 2011 · The D6-9U is capable of spinning it's tracks under load but it's only a 20,000 lb+ tractor as opposed to say the D8H which is a 50,000 lb+ unit with almost three times the hp. Don't know anything about your TD15 or Allis 14c other than I would consider them to be orphans come parts needing time.
