Feb 5, 2025 · First post! I recently bought a running Cat 22 and look forward to working on it, preserving it, and driving it in the local museum tractor parade. It's a nice, unmolested machine that starts right up and operates as it should. It's a lot of fun and I'm quite pleased with it.

May 10, 2024 · Has anyone reconditioned a Cat 22 engine, and tested the compression, I have a Cat 22 here I just tested the compression of, and got between 72 and 75 PSI across the 4 cylinders, I added some oil to the cylinders, and that increased the figures by around 1-2 pounds, so not a huge increase.

Apr 9, 2021 · You need to get a copy of "Operator's Instruction Book for CATERPILLAR 22 Tractor". eBay ect. Here is the page you are looking for. Also since the tractor is new to you, the timing of the mag needs to be set as the mag rotor could be in the wrong position. Enjoy your CAT 22 as they are still a very usable and reliable machine. Mar 10, 2025 · I have a Cat Fifteen and one of my customers has asked if i can locate any gauges for his 22 restoration project. My Fifteen only has an oil pressure gauge, is it the same as the one in the 22 ? T-543 is the p/n for the fifteen one.

Nov 7, 2007 · I would like to put a pulley on a Cat 15 but can't find one specifically for that tractor. Will a Cat 22 pulley fit the big 15 (PV 5600)? Is there a cookbook on how to rebuild the soft pulley material? I was given the site of a paper pulley rebuilder that looks promising but first need to determine if it will fit. Thanks,

Sep 27, 2008 · Replied by bgates on topic 1936 cat 22 To make it run smoother, try adjusting and cleaning the points in the magneto, clean or replace the sparkplugs ($3.00 each at Car Quest), run aviation gas through it if you have varnish issues, retorque the head, adjust the valves, then hook onto something heavy and run the crap out of it.

Mar 31, 2024 · Have a Cat 22 with an original? Stewart Warner temp gauge. Gauage still works but has no glass, has a needle, but the face is completly rustsy. I propose to seperate the bezel ring, pull the needle off and then derust and paint the face, What I want to do ijs get new face markings decal made.
