Dec 17, 2010 ·
Hello. I am very excited to announce that today I received my Canon P body. This is my first ever rangefinder, and I'm over the moon with it. It's in excellent condition and all the shutter speeds sound accurate. Woo!
I've waited months for a …
M3 vs. Canon P - Leica and Rangefinders - Photo.net
Aug 21, 2002 · Hi all. I have a question for those who have direct experience with the Canon P and Leica M3. Can someone comment on the relative qualities of the viewfinders in these two cameras? I am in the process of choosing between a beat-to-heck (but working well and warrentied!) m3 and a well cared for P....
Jupiter-12 on a Canon P? - Classic Manual Film Cameras - Photo.net
Sep 30, 2005 ·
Joe, Michael and Oscar:
I just tried the Jupiter-12 on my Canon 7s. It wouldn't fit normally, as the Light Shield (part. no. C 2007 in the repair manual) would be in the way. But this Light Shield can be bent a little bit on the top to let more room for the lens' butt. I made this modification, and the lens now fits securely in the body.
Canon P and Canon 7 - Leica and Rangefinders - Photo.net
Feb 17, 2009 ·
Having some free time this past weekend, I spent a few hours running searches on photo.net and got interested in the comments about the Canon rangefinders. The opinion on this forum is pretty consistent that the P is the better value, and when checking used and auction prices online, the...
OT: fixing a Canon P shutter curtain - Photo.net
May 23, 2003 · Apart from spending $1000 or so on a Canon P that has its shutter curtain in immaculate, uncrinkled condition, is there anything one can do to fix the wrinkles? Mine came with them of course, and they're not affecting the pictures... but if they ever did (hey, how did they get there in the first ...
canon P - Classic Manual Film Cameras - Photo.net
Mar 24, 2007 · The P is a wonderful camera for shooting, enjoy it. The black/chrome series of Canon RF glass are all very under rated,IMHO. Lenses like the 35 F1.8, 35 F2.8, 50 F1.8, 50 F2.8, and the 100 F3.5 will produce results as good as the German glass of the same vintage.
Rangefinder calibration on Canon P and 7s - Photo.net
Dec 20, 2012 ·
Hello. I have both the P and 7s and I've noticed when shooting at around 7 ft, both rangefinders are off (ugly focusing errors). They are "on" at infinity. Moreover, my Canon bottomloader (a IID1) serviced by Gerry @ Kindermann a few years back is spot-on both at 7 ft and infinity. This ...
Canon IIF2 - Rare and Fine in the Blur of Time - Photo.net
Nov 27, 2011 ·
In 1955, While I was still a gleam in my daddy's eye, Canon was busy making Leica type rangefinder cameras. While based in form and function on the Leica cameras of that era, Canon introduced some of it's own innovations such as the combined viewfinder/rangefinder that provided multiple ...
Weird Canon P Image Leakiness - Photo.net
Nov 22, 2010 ·
In many of the shots I've taken on my Canon P, there's a horizontal bar that shows up along the right or left side of the picture--it varies, but it never occurs on both sides in the same picture, and it occurs with different lenses. It sounds like …
Canon 7 and Canon P Diopter Correction - Photo.net
Mar 20, 2005 · I have a Canon 7 RF and with a Minolta CLE, I'm able to cover my RF needs at a cost far less than the Leica M6 I parted with. However, one problem is my eyesight---I'm about 20-60 uncorrected, and I prefer to close focus without my glasses. I'm able to fit the CLE with a Minolta diopter lens (-2)...
