Caulastrea, commonly called trumpet corals or candy cane corals, are great beginner-friendly LPS corals. The reason they make good beginner corals is three fold. Candy Canes are generally hardy. While it’s always a good idea to pursue pristine water conditions, these corals give hobbyists some room for error.

Jan 21, 2014 · Yes I think that is too much for a candy cane. I would say on par they need something around 50. They often do best in even lower light situation where they are somewhat shaded from direct light.
