let's begin. The Search, Measure and Settings menus provide tools that allow you to find and learn more about the area you are viewing as well as customize the map viewer itself.

STEP 2: Navigate in the Map Viewer. You can search for specific areas or locations by using the search bar in the top of the mapviewer. Search for areas by their name or any coordinate system.

Print free 1:24k USGS topo maps using the CalTopo PDF generator. Add UTM grids on either NAD27 or WGS84 datums.

I am wanting to map relatively small areas, 500 acres or so. The box that shows the size that will be printed to a single page appears to be enlargeable, but not reducible.

Contours. The contours overlay is based on DEM, or Digital Elevation Model, data sets. This overlay will help you add topographic information to an otherwise “flat” map such as aerial imagery or a street map.
