Primary logo. Inspired by famed type designer Frederic Goudy’s Californian typeface — which was created more than 85 years ago for the University of California Press — and its sibling font, Deepdene, our logo is designed to be clear, confident and curious.

The UC Berkeley logo is our name set in a customized serif typeface that draws inspiration from the original metal version of the Californian typeface and other Frederic Goudy works. The Cal script mark is the primary logo for athletics.

The preferred presentation of the Cal Alumni Association logo is two-color, using Berkeley Blue and California Gold, on a white background. If the design warrants, the logo may be reproduced on a screen of Berkeley Blue or California Gold. The tint should range between 5% and 20%.

Our logo is simply "Cal.com" in the Cal Sans font. We have a dark and light variant, and although the dark is considered our default, you can freely use both as much as you'd like. As many designers will tell you, when using a logo, always make the logo smaller.
