cadnano simplifies and enhances the process of designing three-dimensional DNA origami nanostructures. Through its user-friendly 2D and 3D interfaces it accelerates the creation of arbitrary designs.

Install cadnano. cadnano 2.2.0 Installer (64 bit). Run the MSI file and follow the instructions in the installer. Run Autodesk Maya and click on the cadnano button on the top right of the Maya interface. Troubleshooting. A few users have encountered a problem where the Maya configuration files are not updated by the installer.

About cadnano. The first version cadnano was initially developed in William Shih's laboratory at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and released under the MIT license.

Cadnano 2 is a complete rewrite of the software. Our main objectives for the release were to establish the new architecture, simplify the overall worklow and provide a more functional 3D view that will allow a 3D-centered design in future releases.

The 2.2.0 release of cadnano introduces a new plugin framework to facilitate sharing of user-created extensions of the software. We've included one example plugin to serve as a reference for developing additional plugins, and plan to document everything in a future release.
