The ZG-47 is the last true evolution of the Mauser 98 System. It was build at the Zbrojovka factory in Brno at the same time and following the 21 and 22 hunting models. The action is a modernized 98', with low scope safety on a special shroud and Oberndorf type sing open floor plate. The receiver is grooved for the now standard 19mm CZ mount.

Jan 30, 2008 · These rifles have (in English) "BRNO ARMS" stamped on side of the receiver and "CZ" logo on top of the receiver instead of the traditional "Z". Those were not Brno Made rifles but as previously noted, Brno maintained strong quality control over this production.

Jul 6, 2017 · There were only 20,000 of the ZG47 made, after the 721 and 722 ( 21H and 22F ), before the 600 and 601. Some of the early ones of these had rounded top receivers with hashing and logos. Later ones have the square bridge to accept the integral scope rings, like remained with the Brno /CZ models 600/601/602 and CZ 550.
