All SD crts make a 15khz whine, but the flyback can be louder if it’s going out. Less than half the amount of those lines are drawn on a 15KHz display which is why it equals 60Hz. I keep seeing a lot of misinformation getting upvoted on this sub.

Feb 28, 2020 · PC CRTs don't take 240p, and if they did, they'd whine. You need to up the resolution to get out of that 15 khz range, since older consoles don't do any more than 15 khz. HD CRTs do take 240p and such, but do their own bad scaling, which is why you still need a line-doubler in the mix there, to get good, lagless scaling.

I've never seen a crt in person and just wanted to know if this is a big problem and if there are crt's that don't make this buzzing sound. Can anyone let me know if there is a way around this? My research indicates that this is just the scanning frequency of the tube, and not a fault of the electronics.
