CN #5700 on display at the Elgin County Railway Museum which is inside the former Michigan Central Railroad Locomotive shops. The locomotives on display are taken outside only twice a year. Tough to photograph but interesting surroundings.

Old Time Trains
5700 westbound at Sunnyside with a short train bound for London. The recently (1958) completed Gardiner Expressway starting at the Queen Elizabeth Way at the Humber River east to Jameson Avenue destroyed Sunnyside Amusement Park dating from 1925.

Canadian National 5700, Stratford, Ontario, September 5, 1958. Class K-5-a 4-6-4, erected 1930 by Montreal Locomotive Works. Note that the smoke deflectors formerly applied to these 4-6-4s have been removed. This locomotive is equipped with disc drivers.

When the class was headed for the ferroequine knacker's yard, the CN had decided to preserve the class leader. Well, as often happens in such things, someone failed to get the word and 5700 had already been sliced into with the cutting torch when the mistake was discovered.

Seven colour photographs documenting the arrival of Canadian National Railways Locomotive No. 5700 in St. Thomas, Ontario, on October 22, 1988. The engine is a Hudson type steam engine (4-6-4, class K-5a), built by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1930 and was retired from the Canadian National Railways' roster in 1960.
