
EMD SD75M/SD75I - Wikipedia
The EMD SD75M and EMD SD75I are a series of similar diesel-electric locomotives produced by General Motors Electro-Motive Division between 1994 and 1996. The series is an improvement and extension to the EMD SD70 series, which further is an extension to the EMD SD60.

Dec 16, 2024 · The SD75M and SD75I were constructed at the same time, entering EMD's catalog in 1994. They utilized General Motors' 16-cylinder model 710G3B prime mover, which could produce 4,300 horsepower, a slight increase over the SD70 series which was rated at only 4,000 horsepower.

Former CN SD75I 5689 and the new cabs of siblings were shot in Muncie, IN, by Insp02, in mid-November 2023. Note that these modernized cabs still retain their Teardrop Windscreens, which would be a first in the rebuild program.
