The Center for Manufacturing Excellence offers in-person visits Monday-Friday from 8:30 until 3:00. You can schedule your tour by contacting a CME Admissions Representative at [email protected]. While on campus, you can also take an official visit through our University of Mississippi Office of Admissions.

Located within the CME facility is our 12,000-square-foot manufacturing floor, where students gain hands-on experience as they learn the basics of wood, metal, plastic and carbon fiber composite processing and finishing.

The Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) was founded on the concept that people are the greatest resource of any organization. As such, the fundamental purpose of the program is focused toward developing servant-leaders for the manufacturing industry.

CME’s program has been designed to replicate the real work world of modern manufacturing. Our students attend rigorous academic courses and also participate in valuable experiential learning that takes place outside of the classroom.

All CME students participate in lean manufacturing, and problem-solving teamwork assignments held on-site at manufacturing facilities. Working with industry partners, the CME’s instructional team identifies course projects beneficial to the manufacturer and relates to students’ coursework.

To be considered for freshman entry admission into the CME, students must first complete a general admissions application to the University of Mississippi.
