CHD1 - Wikipedia
The Chromodomain-Helicase DNA-binding 1 is a protein that, in humans, is encoded by the CHD1 gene. [5][6][7] CHD1 is a chromatin remodeling protein that is widely conserved across many eukaryotic organisms, from yeast to humans.

Mar 30, 2025 · CHD1 (Chromodomain Helicase DNA Binding Protein 1) is a Protein Coding gene. Diseases associated with CHD1 include Pilarowski-Bjornsson Syndrome and Stroke, Ischemic. Among its related pathways are ESR-mediated signaling and Signal Transduction.
CHD1 chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 1 [ (human)]
CHD1 functions as a tumor suppressor in the prostate by constraining AR binding/function to limit tumor progression. SPOP-mutated mCRPCs are strongly enriched for CHD1 loss. These tumors appear highly sensitive to abiraterone treatment.
Chd1 protects genome integrity at promoters to sustain ...
Aug 11, 2021 · Chd1 is an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeler that binds specifically to H3K4me3 and is found at sites of active transcription 8, 9. Chd1 removes nucleosomal barriers to transcriptional...
CHROMODOMAIN HELICASE DNA-BINDING PROTEIN 1; CHD1 …
Sep 20, 2017 · The CHD1 gene encodes a ubiquitously expressed ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling protein that regulates the opening of chromatin and plays a role in transcription (summary by Pilarowski et al., 2018).
Human CHD1 is required for early DNA-damage signaling and is uniquely ...
May 4, 2018 · CHD1 is a conserved chromatin remodeling enzyme required for development and linked to prostate cancer in adults, yet its role in human cells is poorly understood. Here, we show that targeted disruption of the CHD1 gene in human cells leads to a defect in early double-strand break (DSB) repair via h …
Chromatin Regulator, CHD1, Remodels the Immunosuppressive …
We previously identified chromodomain-helicase-DNA-binding protein 1 (CHD1) as an essential gene in PTEN-deficient cancer cells. Here, we sought definitive in vivo genetic evidence for, and mechanistic understanding of, the essential role of CHD1 in PTEN-deficient prostate cancer.
Nucleosome–Chd1 structure and implications for chromatin …
Oct 11, 2017 · The chromatin remodelling factor Chd1 can alter nucleosome positioning and facilitates the passage of RNA polymerase II through nucleosomes.
CHD1, a multifaceted epigenetic remodeler in prostate cancer
Jan 26, 2023 · In this Review, we summarize the biochemical properties and dysregulation of CHD1 in cancer cells, and then discuss CHD1's roles in different contexts of prostate cancer, with an emphasis on its crosstalk with diverse signaling pathways.
CHD1 - an overview | ScienceDirect Topics
CHD1 is a tumor suppressor and plays a significant role in the development of prostate cancer. CHD1 is located at 5q21, and deletions within this region are one of the most frequent to occur in prostate cancer, second only to PTEN. Approximately 17% of prostate cancers contain a CHD1 mutation or deletion (Table 4).
