The Douglas C-74 Globemaster was a United States heavy-lift cargo aircraft built by the Douglas Aircraft Company in Long Beach, California. The aircraft was developed after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor.

After all production modifications were made, the C-74 Globemaster was the largest land-based transport in the world! It was a cantilever low-wing monoplane of all metal construction, with a conventional tail unit, retractable tricycle landing gear with twin wheels on each unit, and four Pratt & Whitney radial engines.

It is a 28-cylinder four-row radial piston engine with two popper valves per cylinder, gear-driven single-stage variable-speed centrifugal-type supercharger, and an air-cooled cooling system. Each engine produces a maximum thrust of 3,250 horsepower.
