Apr 12, 2019 · My C7 seems so much more responsive than the C5. I feel more in control when driving the twisty roads. The base C7 handles better and has more HP than the Z06 C5.

The C5 is a lighter and perhaps more responsive but C7 is faster. Overall both are great handling and incredibly fun to drive - there is a reason Corvettes are so popular at track days. Your response has a lot of merit.

Nov 4, 2023 · Due to my inside knowledge I personally think that a C5 would be better for you. However, judging by the comments a C7 seems like the better option for reliability and ease with modifying and looking for new parts.

Mar 17, 2024 · The C7 will be a better and more modern driver than the C5, even with the $10k in modifications to the C5. This is a VERY close call in my opinion though and you literally cannot go wrong either way IMO.

May 6, 2019 · All three cars are similar in basic concept. The C6 was designed with greater suspension travel than the C5 and has a longer wheelbase. The C7 (I believe) has a slightly longer wheelbase than the C6, has a stiffer chassis, and an E-Diff. It also allows the adjustment of the rear caster angle, which (I believe) allows better control of rear toe.

Mar 11, 2024 · Debating as new as possible C5, a 2010+ C6 GS, or a 2016+ 1LT Z51 C7. C5 is a very popular track car and as easy as it gets to work on, however it's old, alot may need to be replaced and the interior creaks like a old house.
