The Rapido HO scale C40-8M was released as a "budget" model with fewer details and parts then found on previous Rapido locomotives. That being said, the model has excellent tooling and serves as a great canvas for super detailing.

Some of the CN ex-BC Rail C40-8M's got black trucks and fuel tanks. But the ones that kept silver were creating a different weathered result, where they seem darker, towards a dark brown/grey that is darker that the road grime shades that seem common on engines with black trucks.

Reports floating around that CN confirmed the Dash 8-40CM barns (BCOL ones included) will be retired once all the new GE's arrive on the property. Anyone have any truth to this? TIA. Joe Tarantine

A pretty consistent CN Chicago train, L536, was way off today, and it's later timing tonight let met catch a huge surprise - a BCOL C40-8M. I say surprise because I saw video of a funeral train of C40-8M's headed to scrap in Ontario, and I haven't seen one of these in a long time. A little bit about the weird operations today.
