Warren Kizza Besigye Kifefe (/ ˈ b ɛ s ɪ dʒ i /; born 22 April 1956), commonly known by his nickname Colonel Dr. Kizza Besigye, is a Ugandan physician, politician, and former military officer.

KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — Ugandan opposition figure Kizza Besigye was charged with treason on Friday in an escalation of legal troubles stemming from allegations he plotted to remove the country’s long-time leader by force.
