Bwana Don in Jungle-La aired on WJBK from 1960 to 1963. With his chimp Bongo Bailey, Don Hunt hosted cartoons while teaching Detroit’s small fry about the wonders of the animal kingdom. In the summer of 1961 Hunt took a movie camera to Kenya to film animal footage for the show.
