Sep 25, 2006 · Interestingly, the city of Burbank, California is NOT named for Luther Burbank. It's named for Dr. David Burbank, a 19th century rancher-business tycoon who owned most of the land that became the town named for him. I never knew that till today, when I was googling around looking for information on the subject of this conversation.

Oct 15, 2007 · And, oh yes, the pool at Burbank JH was indoors in a large room with no windows and completely sealed off from prying eyes. It's just amazing how things have changed. In the 50s -- those dull, puritanical and sexually repressed FIFTIES -- nude PE swim classes weren't a big deal and nobody gave it a second thought.

Oct 24, 2011 · Between Burbank and Palmdale there are 4 alignments under study, three of which include very long tunnels, and they're just about to start doing preliminary boring investigations. So that section has a long way to go and will be very expensive. In other places the general corridor is defined but exact alignments are still to be decided.
