Wrathful[4] (怒りの状態 Ikari no Jōtai, lit. "Wrath State")[5] is an enraged state used by Broly in the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film and light novel. This state allows the user to access the increased strength of the Great Ape but without the full-body transformation, instead remaining in humanoid form. Wrathful's Initial Stage.

According to Paragus, Broly's rage stems from Goku's power riling up his Saiyan instincts. Returning in Dragon Ball Z: Broly – Second Coming, he crash-lands on Earth and becomes frozen over by a lake of water until the cries of Goku's son Goten awakens him.

The main source of Broly’s power is his rage, and he was able to surpass Super Saiyan God forms in raw power through channelling Super Saiyan Rage.
