Mar 17, 2025 · Plenty of weight to be removed elsewhere, sound deadening, carpet, Hvac only needs to feed the windscreen, speakers , stereo, amp, motor for rear spoiler..... I'm sure a hard top with the lining etc removed is lighter than the hood, and that's before you remove the motors. How few creature comforts can you survive on to/from the track ? It's one of those little luxuries I find incredably useful in modern driving with the enevitable long journeys, increasing numbers of average speed cameras, etc so after some research, I went ahead and did the retrofit.

I have a 2005 987 which is above 225g but has been exempt from the higher road tax band as registered before 23rd March 2006. I’ve seen conflicting articles on whether this exemption will remain after April - does anyone know?
