Boss OD-3 vs BD-2 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Sep 19, 2012 · The OD-3 is not, in my opinion, a natural evolution of the BD-2. It has a completely different circuit, i.e., you can't start with a BD-2 and easily modify a few components to come up with an OD-3. The OD-3, by Boss's explicit intention, is a whole different overdrive animal. It is by no means a modified BD-2. Which one is best for a "blues ...
Boss OD-3 Mods - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Dec 30, 2013 · I might suggest you just don't prefer the OD-3 circuit, or don't have a rig optimized for it. That's a pretty long list of issues with it, actually. I hear you on the bass issue, but I've just learned that due to the bass it's not a "live" pedal for me - only a home pedal. And at home it's perfect through any amp I throw at it. I tried some mods to nip just a …
Stacking Drive Pedals - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Dec 7, 2017 · Well, I have recently started stacking a Boss OD-3 into a Boss DS-1. Sounds great. I have been using the OD-3 as a heavier crunch than the amp and the DS-1 as a lead sound with the volume up a tad and the drive at a moderate level. They blend together to make a more complex third sound, which...
Boss OD-3 opinions - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Aug 14, 2005 · Hello. I recently tried out a Boss OD-3 at a music store through a little mid 80's Fender JAM 1x12" with an American Std. Tele, and I loved how it sounded, even through that little amp (though the amp without the pedal was kind of sad). I had to have it, but realized they are almost $100 new, so...
Any Boss OD-3 fans here? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Jul 22, 2010 · Yeah - they were intended to be Boss's flagship OD. That pedal actually is the embodiment of all of Boss's experience designing OD's, and has a (IMO) much improved circuit versus the BD-2 (as much as I love a well tweaked BD-2). Boss's marketing approach with the OD-3 was terrible, starting with the yellow pedal color.
Boss OD-3 vs BD-2 | Page 3 | Telecaster Guitar Forum
Sep 19, 2012 · This thread inspired me to pull out the OD-3 for band practice. I had originally purchased the OD-3 by just listening to youtube videos of the different boss overdrives (SD-1, OS-2, DN-2, BD-2) and liked the sound the best. So I am going Tele -> Boss OD-3 (always on) -> Fender Sidekick Reverb 20 (a pretty tube-like solid state amp) I think the OD-3 has an amp-like reaction that the SD-1 doesn ...
Boss OD-3 Surprise !!! | Telecaster Guitar Forum
Dec 3, 2010 · There's a second element of surprise to the OD-3. It's not included in Boss's GT-10 super-duper board. Kind of disappointing because I expected the full suite of goodies. I often go back to my trusty OD-3/DD-7 setup and leave the Klingon warship unplugged.
Boss OD-3 killed my tone - Telecaster Guitar Forum
May 16, 2014 · So I finally picked up an OD-3, based on all the reviews, and I was surprised to find that it absolutely paled in comparison to my BD-2 Blues Driver. The OD-3 totally killed my low end, and most of my high end, and it really muddied up my tone. It …
Boss OD-3, OS-2,OD-2R, SD-1, DS-1...etc - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Dec 29, 2005 · I know there are many excellent non-BOSS overdrives out there--I've tested countless overdrives in music stores and on friends' and acquaintances' pedal boards. But I believe BOSS created an instant classic with the OD-3. To my ears, the OD-3 can stand up to most any mass-produced or boutique overdrive pedal I've ever tried or heard. Joel
Boss Overdrive Trifecta - Telecaster Guitar Forum
Mar 14, 2025 · A Boss SD-1 ---> Boss OD-3 is one of my all time favorite combos in to a clean Fender. I have a BD-2 but much, much prefer the OD-3. I also run an EQ and have some of the most glorious tone options. That combination really takes my higher gain amps for a spin.
