Boss BF-2, BF-3. What the Hell is the Difference!? - TalkBass.com
Jun 29, 2005 · I own a Japanese BF-2. Haven't tried the BF-3, though I have used the digital flangers on Boss multi-FX like the ME-50B and GT-3. I love the BF-2 for guitar and bass. I also have a CE-2 Chorus and have had several PH-3 (I think that's the model--the 4 knob analog one) but I feel like the BF-2 covers my modulation needs.
BOSS BF-2 Flanger - TalkBass.com
Mar 8, 2017 · It was a BOSS CE-2 bass chorus. That old stomp box was really great soloed, but could get a little lost in live settings. So, I continued looking for more aggressive modulations that would stand out more in a band context. That's when I discovered the joy that is the Boss BF-2 Flanger. The BF-2 is flat out cool.
Boss BF-2 or BF-2B: Preferences?? - TalkBass.com
May 8, 2013 · The BF-2 has a much more 3D tone and the BF-2B is more of an icing on the cake sound. I am really digging them both for what each can do so I am keeping them. I have 2 Japanese CE-2s that sound great but gonna keep them on the guitar rig and I have an analog CE-5 coming soon for the bass rig.
Boss BF-2 Settings Thread - TalkBass.com
Oct 23, 2007 · The BF-2 used to be the only pedal I owned (HA!) and I had a chart of like, ten different settings I'd switch between. The only one I remember is, from left to right (I can't even remember the knobs, just the positions): 10:00 11:00 1:00 2:00 I guess I should mention that I'm pretty opposed to Post Yr Settings threads, as a rule.
Boss BF-2 vs. BF-3 - TalkBass.com
Dec 5, 2006 · For playing Tool covers, which I enjoy doing cause me and my buddy love Tool and learn their songs religiously, it does great. But I have written some great tunes myself using the BF-3 as well, before I got the BF-2, and they just sound slightly different to me through the BF-2 when I play them.
Boss BF-2 Flanger on bass? - TalkBass.com
Jun 21, 2006 · I have a MIJ BF-2 (the one pictured) that I bought in the mid 80's. Haven't used it much lately but have been thinking of firing it up again. It is a great pedal, but as mentioned, it is easy to overdo it. I saw a Peavey tech do a demo once where he bi-amped using this flanger.
Regarding the Boss BF-2 - TalkBass.com
Oct 30, 2007 · Most Analog flangers are pretty similar. Older DODs are cheaper than Boss-BF-2s. I solder my black-label BF-2 and kept my DOD FX75C. The DOD sounded thicker and less metallic, which I preferred. The 75B, I believe, has the same controls as the BF-2. Realistically, I could have been happy with either one, but I got more money back by selling the ...
Boss BF-2 vs BF-2B vs BF-3 - TalkBass.com
Jun 8, 2014 · I love Justin Chancellor's tone with the BF-2. I tried a BF-3 in my local shop for awhile and really just did not dig it. Didn't like the sound quality at all. A couple months later I got a BF-2 and I've loved it from day 1. I think analog makes a difference in the tone/feel for me. It's less sterile and has more "wet" character with that ...
Boutique clone of Boss BF-2 circuit? - TalkBass.com
Aug 12, 2011 · I did some googling and weirdly couldn't find any examples of any pedal builders making a modern boutique clone of the Boss BF-2 circuit. I have an original silver screw one to death but in an effort to keep it functional thought it'd be cool to put a clone on my gigging board and keep my vintage pedal back at the studio.
Flange it up! Maxon FL-9 vs. Boss BF-3 vs. Boss BF-2 vs. EHX …
Jan 18, 2008 · The Boss BF-3 is a great flanger. It's great for guitar and bass. If you like the normal sweep of a flanger than put your bass in the guitar input, if you like a subtle flanger, put it in the bass input.
