You'll need to experiment to determine what flavors you like: oregano, basil, garlic, pepper, sugar, romano...all of the above? I was doing a thick sauce, which was 1 cup Bonta and 1.25 cups water.

Nov 13, 2009 · After baking, the pizza tasted great and the sauce appeared the same as the 6-1 normally does. The cheese was much more stretchy and didn't have the slight amounts of liquid in it that it usually does. Overall, since I got more mileage out of the bonta and achieved an equivalent flavor, I think I am going to stick with the bonta from now on.

Aug 1, 2007 · Mike, even the thinnest of the three bontas is basically a concentrate. Almost tomato paste, so it needs to be thinned out with water. I was shocked to find out that the sauce made with this method is actually quite good for a NY street style slice.

Mar 20, 2009 · Bonta, even the bonta pizza sauce, is just tomatoes. They say there is basil in there, but it really is just a basil sprig on the bottom of the can. It doesn't do much to flavor the sauce, so you end up with a totally plain unseasoned tomato sauce. The allegro line is more of a ready to use sauce.
