Mar 6, 2014 · Drum set bongos with synthetic heads will take a lot of hard play. Some drum set bongos that I have will accept heads with normal drum type collars and rim shot type drum hoops on the heads. They sound like very high pitched concert toms with a "bark" in their voices.
Play Bongos with sticks - [DFO] Drum Forum
Jan 3, 2011 · As auxiliary percussionist for a big band, I regularly use drum sticks on the LP Generation III bongos we have, and usually mount them on an LP stand. I prefer to use the butt ends of my 5A_B sticks, vs. thinner sticks or any mallets as the 5's sound thicker than "bongo" sticks and sharper than any mallets.
Six inch "Bongo" head? - [DFO] Drum Forum
Aug 6, 2005 · I bought a Ludwig Conga drum about 20 + years ago. They used a similar head (only in 12" diameter) with a deep collar so the hoop would end up below the head surface. The head on the drum was toast so I started hunting for a replacement. It soon became apparent that A: only Ludwig had made these heads. And B: they didn't make them anymore.

Nov 21, 2012 · Those bongo heads with the huge collar are much larger than the drum's diameter. 6" and 8" bongos have been pretty much the standard for many years. [/quote] Here's a pic of the small drum, as you can see after I removed the rawhide head the OD is around 6 1/4".

Mounting a set of Bongos.... - [DFO] Drum Forum
Mar 1, 2013 · I use a very cheap little bongo stand that I bought online a few years ago for the Ludwig red sparkle bongos I set up with my rewrapped Ludwig orphans. The same stand works quite well with the Leedy bongos that go with my Pscho Clown Barf orphans set. The stand is super light weight, takes up minimal floor space, and is quite adjustable.

Rogers Bongos? - [DFO] Drum Forum
Sep 21, 2013 · Greetings all, I recently picked up a pair of Rogers Bongos and question it's value. I do not see a certificate sticker on the inside of the larger bongo drum, but if it's truly a vintage bongo set, I'm sure it's worth something. There is only a …
