Jun 5, 2014 · Are there any particular tricks to finding them? They're a rare spawn, found in cold biomes. Make a platform out of snow blocks, move away from the platform and wait for it. They should spawn pretty quickly. If you're not playing AS then you should build the platform high up in the sky, so the mobs on the ground despawn instantly.

The Blizz Rod is an item added by Thermal Foundation. Its only use is to create Blizz Powder Blizz Rod is obtained by killing Blizzes, each Blizz will drop 0-1 rod.

all three of those can by made with Thermal's Fluid Transposer using any of the 3 mob liquids. (essence, XP, essence of knowledge) pulverized obsidian - basalz. niter/saltpeter - blitz. snowballs - blizz. side note - these are all in JEI. :-)

Take 5 blizz powder into a compactor and you’ll get the blizz rod. From the Thermal Foundation website: "Blizzes spawn in cold biomes. They spawn on solid blocks at light level 8 or less.
