Feb 26, 2025 · Windows start is normal, logging screen to, but after Hello authentication desktop is missing and I have blank (grey) screen only. On the second monitor attached – same. When i close and open lid and on logon screen choose RESTART – everything is back to normal – till next main update. All Dell and Microsoft updates done.

Jul 30, 2015 · The first couple of times, I got the same grey screen. The last time I rebooted, I let the computer run for a while. It looks like it was downloading an automated updated because after some time passed, I got a message that it was restarting. It installed an update and then it was back to my normal screen.

You can still 'see' the desktop behind the grey screen, but you can't . get to it. The first time it happened, Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the Task Manager at least managed

Feb 8, 2022 · I have Office 365 through my university. When I have been opening Word documents, I see the content for 2 seconds and then when it fully loads, the screen goes grey. I then can't see my previous work or type anything new. This also happens when opening new documents - I can't even begin typing.

I updated to windows 11 and now I get the grey screen of death. There was no proir warning that my machine was not compatible. I have also reported several times. What is the process to fix this? The

However, I could open the spreadsheet using Internet Explorer. I have never done this before! When I opened a new spreadsheet, the normal looking page appeared.
