Feb 24, 2010 · The difference is that the black tang is also know as the longnose black tang.His nose is alot longer than that of any other tang of its same family. So the fish that you have in the pictue above has a short nose and is not back wich means it is not a black tang .It is a Scopas tang also know as a brown tang. hopes this helps.

May 28, 2023 · Please, save yourself the time and money, get yourself a nice scopas tang. Even a lawnmower blenny looks nicer. If you have a black tang, good for you. I'm not going to tell you that your fish is horrible. If you like them, you like them. But the chances of me putting one of these in my tank are miniscule. "Overrated" is a good word for them.
