If your car has beautiful or crisp character lines, they stand out more with light colors. I really like the Mk7 GTI in white, for example. Black looks better overall, but silver is (from what I've heard) much easier to keep clean and doesn't show imperfections (chips, scratches, swirls) nearly as much as black does. Owning a black car introduced me to proper wash methods, weekly washing, clay barring, da polishers, being able to properly cut & polish, etc. It in itself was a great learning journey that I'll not regret owning a black car for but I do get better return on my time spent detailing these days on a non black car.

Black car owner. I'd say about 5 or 6. Black paint, when clean and waxed looks phenomenal. No color compares. It comes at the cost of being higher maintenence to keep clean. Every dust particle, scratch, rock chip, and dent seems to really stand out in black paint. Also, be weary of used cars with black paint.
