Jun 4, 2020 · This has been happening for a few months, but I still don't know how to fix it. Every time I click on something while using my desktop, a black outline appears around what I selected. I think it might be something involving ease of access or voice over, but I couldn't make it stop. I would appreciate help fixing this.

Jan 4, 2023 · Everything I click on or hover over has a thick black outline. I don't seem to know how to fix it, I've tried clearing cookies and removing extensions, as well as updating to the latest version. Thanks.

Aug 24, 2020 · Since Edge is using Chromium, I have noticed that they have also implemented the thick black border/outline when a textbox/menu is selected. On Chrome, I have removed this by going to Flags >> #form-controls-refresh - Disable. I have done the same on Edge but the borders are still showing. Anything else we can do to get this removed?

May 31, 2017 · Every 2 or 3 hours on my pc, the outline of a black box flashes up on my screen for a fraction of a second. I have cyberghost installed and thought it may be that, but I closed it down, and the box flashed shortly after, so I think it isn't that. It looks like a command prompt box, but it's so quick it's hard to tell.

Mar 10, 2025 · I'm having the exact same problem, with the same black pattern. This has to be a new issue. Edit: I just tried this and it seems to have worked. Disable "Use animations when expanding conversations and groups" at the bottom of the advanced Outlook options.
