Jun 22, 2020 · For example releases from 0.6.2 onwards in particular made some severe changes for some Macs (disabled AMFI, again) which will disable functionality on Big Sur and Monterey just to allow the use of the latest Ventura releases. Especially Kepler and IvyBridge 2012 Macs are hit by this. Stay on release 0.6.1 with Big Sur running such a system.

Nov 26, 2014 · I went straight from High Sierra to Big Sur and never tried either Catalina or Mojave but as far as I was aware they didn't work properly on 2011 iMacs because graphics acceleration was non-functional.

Dec 19, 2019 · Big Sur runs fine on a 2015 MBP - see screen shot below - my MBP has been running Big Sur since the first beta was available - I like it better than Catalina - - but - as I mentioned above - make sure all your softwares will upgrade / work on Big Sur ?

For OpenCore, you better re-install it after you boot from the cloned Big Sur. e.g. 1) install BOTH old and new SSD 2) Boot from the old SSD (OC + Big Sur) 3) use CCC to clone Big Sur to the new SSD 4) Re-install OC to the new SSD (including bless it) 5) Shutdown, then remove the old SSD
