Oct 9, 2019 · Sure, you can make a tapering jig, and follow it with a bevel jig set to account for that taper, but none of them can account for a curve. Well, I suppose someone could and probably has come up with a 5-axis CNC grinding jig that can do that, but that takes all the craftsmanship out of it.

Aug 1, 2021 · Here's the freshly-finished jig with a profiled blade installed. I have a box of #2-56 socket-head cap screws ordered to replce the M2 slotted screw holding the blade. The pivoting support arm screw is threaded #10-32, and the angle adjustment screw is 1/4-28.

Jan 14, 2014 · I watched a video of Michael Morris of MichaelMorrisKnives and he seemed to rest his blade on his jig so switching sides was quick. By luck (and geometry) the 7/16 hex head and nut for a 1/4 inch bolt is almost exactly 1/2 inch from tip to tip.

Mar 3, 2022 · When I try to do fine motor activities my hand tremors a lot. Makes it harder to hold onto stuff and be accurate. So want to use a jig for long bevels and try to freehand easy/quick spots. I have been using a hinged handmade jig I built about 4 years ago on stuff I plan to sell, and practice by hand on other stuff.
