Now have a 2013 E350. The 2008 was a much more comfortable car, but the 2013 is a better handling car with more gadgets. As for the best year for the W212, I guess it depends on what you want. Personally, I liked the pre-facelift version of the w212, so I went with the 2013 as it was the latest pre facelift model.

Oct 30, 2017 · The w212 is just an all around better car. Safer, drives better, and depending on what type of tools you have, it's easier to work on. The only reason I say it's easier to work on, is because as the years go on, benz's quality of electronics seems to keep going up.

There were bad door handles in the W211 with keyless go, but the new design in the W212 is more of a sealed senor so water doesn't get in and corrode the switches so you don't really hear of door handles going bad on the W212 whereas it's just a matter of time with the W211.
