May 3, 2021 · EDIT: I've found that the creator of the game is an artist named Ben Wheele. Apparently he's created other games and animations, most notably a previously lost game called Cran Mabbit. From what I gather, he was contacted, and both Cran Mabbit and Mixing Woods were shared in a now dead discord server.

His animated films have been screened at festivals internationally including Annecy, Pictoplasma, London Intl. Animation Festival, Rotterdam Film Festival and Stuttgart ITFS.
