Add in that any remaining models could be a hodge podge of parts and every ship you get into is unique - Narrow cabin, wide cabin. short stack, tall panel, lay down panel, turbo, non-turbo, weighted blades, non-weighted blades, etc etc etc.

Mar 15, 2009 · The bell 47 is primitive but is really a sweet ship for late 40's and early 50's technology. I like it generally more than the robbie 22 or s 300 by far when it comes to flying enjoyment. Autos are like comparing a new lincoln town car to an 80's vw rabbit, the rotor inertia is incredible.... more like a "real" helicopter I am told.

Jan 16, 2008 · Yes I know teaching in R22's is the general way to build hours but is it better to have 150 hrs in R22, where you still need 50 more just to teach, or 150 total (117 hrs R22 & 30+hrs in Bell 47) and given the op to push the 47 and build time with it.

Oct 8, 2014 · ZIPPIE, If your 47 had a turbocharged Lycoming engine it was either a G-3B, B-1 or B-2. The power lag was in the turbo charger. You have to lead the power to allow the turbocharger to build more boost pressure to the engine.
