Belgian AZERTY layout includes symbols that are often used in Europe, such as the Euro sign (€), accents (é, è, ç), and more. On a QWERTY keyboard, accessing these characters often requires complex key combinations, whereas on , they are much more accessible.

For the past 25 years, I have been using keyboards with a Belgian Azerty layout. Throughout my search for a new (mechanical) keyboard, I noticed that less and less brands are offering a Belgian layout for their high-end keyboards. So, this makes me wonder whether it would be a good idea to transition to a qwerty keyboard?

My laptop has an azerty layout but I often plug in a keyboard that is qwerty (you can switch the layouts by using alt+shift on windows, freaking awesome). I can say that it's easy to get used to both.

In the Belgian AZERTY layout, the grave accent is generated by the combination Alt Gr + μ (the μ key is located to the right of the ù key on Belgian AZERTY keyboards), and then the key for the vowel requiring the accent. Its main use is in typing letters used in other languages (e.g. Italian ò) and accented capital letters.
