Oct 24, 2018 · Weapons are divided into three classes - device, thrown and melee. Some fit into both thrown and melee, but use determines which comparison to use. For example, a dagger is somewhat like a cestus in melee combat, but not at all similar when thrown. When thrown it is very like a throwing hammer.

The Dungeons & Dragons Rules Cyclopedia (1991), compiled and developed by Aaron Allston was the triumphant finale to the BECMI edition of D&D (1983-85). It was published in November 1991.

Nov 12, 2020 · I was wondering how people would simplify and compress Weapon Mastery to fit in with the power level, balance, and 14-level spread of Old School Essentials. Note that I'm not talking about the proficiency slots system in the Advanced Fantasy Genre Rulebook, which gives you some slots and you can spend 2 for +1 to hit with that weapon.

Jun 12, 2024 · Special weapons like Whip, Bolas, Blowgun etc still use the standard rules. Note that Fighters still have more options to train, so will end up with Higher Mastery in multiple weapons, but not necessarily cause much more damage than other classes.
