Different grapes, soils, climate, production methods, etc. And that's just the nuts and bolts--- stylistically, by that I mean aroma and taste, they're also isn't going to be much overlap.

I tend to think of my Piedmont wines more globally, and other wines from the region, including Barbaresco, Langhe Nebbiolo, and Alto Piemonte, will drink earlier than serious Barolo, and will help give an idea of how the vintage will develop. Also something like Vajra’s Barolo Albe tends to drink earlier.

The label says they are ready to drink, but they are all from 2014. I've been told these wines need a significant amount of time to age, and the winery expects the buyer to let them sit in their basement for 10-50 years.

Aug 28, 2020 · Barolo is often a very subtle wine versus the oakbombs that tend to be in favor. A well-aged Barolo will be medium weight, with really elegant and evanescent aromatics. A $30 bottle of Barolo probably won't be as much fun as Ravenswood, especially in its relative youth.
