Abul Barkat (Bengali: আবুল বরকত; 16 June 1927 – 21 February 1952) was a protester killed during the Bengali Language Movement protests which took place in the erstwhile East Pakistan (currently Bangladesh), in 1952.

In 21 st February 1952, police opened fire on rallies. Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar, Shafiur died with hundreds others injured. This is one of the very rare incidents in the history, where people had to sacrifice their lives for their mother tongue. The sacrifice of the martyr’s was not wasted.
