Feb 15, 2022 · The Bangon are generally identified with the Buhid but they are actually a separate group. In Oriental Mindoro, they live along the Binagaw River and in the mountains of the three municipalities of Bongabong, Bansud, and Gloria.

The group known on the east of Mindoro as Bangon may be a subgroup of Tawbuid, as they speak the 'western' dialect of that language. They also have a kind of poetry called the ambahan.
