Aug 20, 2021 · Personal opinions are always valid. You just don't like the kind of archetype Deku is, and that's fine, but he's not objectively bad, or at least he's on the same level as the rest of the main characters on the show in terms of writing quality.

Jan 16, 2020 · I feel like Deku is fine up till the Overhaul fight. At that point, things just start getting weird. I don't think he necessarily became bad but concepts get introduced that make his journey ultimately take a backseat to the rest of the narrative. Which is in my opinion, the big issue considering he's the main focus of the story.

Jun 4, 2022 · I think Deku sacrificing OFA would really work as a very fitting ending to his journey but personally I want him to keep it and for the setting to be left open to continuation. Like not specifically set up for a sequel series, just done in a way that allows fans to dream about Deku’s career as a hero after the story.

Jun 8, 2023 · Deku's plot armor against Overhaul (which you conveniently left out lol) is the motherload of bad writing and plot armor. Deku was 100% a goner against Overhaul, make no mistake here. And vestiges saving Deku against Shigaraki-AFO in the first arc, and even at Shinso at SF. It's bad plot armor.

Deku always worry about stuff like this, don’t call bad writing for him to act in character See what your not understanding is the writers didn’t write toga to be strong enough to take on deku, they wrote deku to be nerfed in that very moment with poor decision making and a lack of awareness with all the fighting experience he has.
