It's crazy to think that even Korean car companies, who started with so many bad cars, now make better vehicles than the big 3.

Also, for a while, the smaller Nissans (Versa, B16 and B17 chassis Sentras from 2007-2012 and 2013-2018 models) were way shittier than they needed to be.

But thats true for most cars. The reason German cars get a bad reputation is becuase people walk away with a bad taste in their mouth after getting an expensive service bill or face high maintenance costs, or just flat out ignore maintenance because of the cost.

Unfortunately, I only had 90 days on the factory warranty left, it did cover a minor issue causing a CEL, but the thermostat went bad shortly after and then there were signs of the water pump going bad.

All Kia cars built new/redesigned for 2010 and beyond, are part of the new era of Kia and are much better than cars built before that time. Starting with the 2010 Soul, and then the 2011 Optima, people started taking notice of Kia (which is about 40% owned by Hyundai).
