
BA-I - Wikipedia
The BA-I (sometimes BAI) is a Soviet three-axle armoured car. Only 82 vehicles [1] of this type were built in 1932–1934, nevertheless the design initiated a series of heavy armoured cars of Izhorskij plant: BA-3, BA-6, BA-9, and BA-10. Some vehicles were used in World War II, despite being obsolete at the time.

The BA-3 (Russian: Broneavtomobil 3) was a heavy armored car developed in the Soviet Union in 1933, followed by a slightly changed model BA-6 in 1936. Both were based mostly on BA-I, the most important development being the new turret, same as in the T-26 m 1933 and BT-5 tanks, and also equipped with the 45 mm main gun.

The cars originated from a joint collaboration project between Alfa Romeo and the Italian design house Bertone that began in 1953. Three cars were built: the BAT 5 in 1953, the BAT 7 in 1954, and finally the BAT 9 in 1955.

May 6, 2005 · BA-27 was the first Soviet serial armored car. It was based on AMO-F-15 truck chassis (4 x 2), quite reliable and with good cross-country ability. Armored car had strengthened suspension and tires, additional fuel tank and electric starter. Medium armored car BA-27 was produced in 1928-1931 by Izhora factory (Leningrad) – 195 was produced.

Based on the well-known GAZ-AAA 2-ton lorry, the BA-6 armored car was introduced at the Leningrad Izhorskiy plant in 1935 as the production replacement for the BA-3 after only 160 BA-3s had been manufactured.

The BA-6 is a Soviet armoured car developed in the mid 1930s from the earlier BA-3. The BA-6 began development in 1935 at the Izhorskiy plant as a replacement for the BA-3. The BA-3 was considered too heavy so development for the BA-6 was to modernize and lighten but otherwise keep the same idea.
